My wife and my parents went to Miskolc to have lunch. Well, to be more specific, we went to Lillafüred. This is a beautiful place with a lake, a palace with restaurant and small shops – basically it is a tourist resort. Many people come here to marvel at the scenery. After our difficulties finding a parking spot (it was full of cars and people), we had a nice lunch and then, we visited the garden of the palace. One of the most interesting attraction of the place is a nice parterre.
It is a small area of labyrinths made of bushes and flowers. It is fun to go into this parterre and walk around. I am wondering how difficult it could be to maintain it. I think those plants need weekly cutting and expertise to keep their structure. This is something that you can see only in public places or in luxurious homes. I can imagine that some affluent people can afford to have their own parterre. Well, the thing is, we are satisfied with our small balcony at home; we are planning to improve it anyway with a green carpet that will make it look like a small grassy place one day.
Do not forget the appreciation for simple pleasures and a focus on making the most of what you have.
