After the elections, I have to say, all parties have good and bad ideas. Fidesz is no exeption. One of their bad ideas that I do not like is the building battery factories. What really makes me surprised is why the citizens in Debrecen, Göd and Iváncsa voted for this party as they are the ones who support the battery factories. Isn’t anyone bothered by the daily poisoning? Do these citizens really love battery factories that much? Then why was there a need to protest against them?
It’s baffling to me how people can stand the thought of having their air poisoned every single day and still support the party responsible for it. Are they not aware of the long-term health risks? Are they really that enamored with the idea of economic progress at any cost? The protests showed that there were strong feelings against these factories, yet the election results suggest otherwise. It’s almost as if the health of the community has taken a back seat to other concerns, but what could be more important than clean air? Is there something I’m missing here? Why do people act against their own best interests? It’s a mystery to me, and a deeply frustrating one at that.
But there was another political event. Peter Magyar walked out of an interview on ATV’s show “Egyenes Beszéd” after just two minutes. The vice president of the Tisza Party left following a disagreement with the host, Egon Rónai. Rónai had handed Magyar a folder, claiming it contained invitations to the show, responding to Magyar’s earlier criticism of not being invited for a long period. Magyar disputed this, bringing up ATV’s owner, Sándor Németh, and questioning the reasons for his invitation. After the incident, Magyar posted on Facebook, accusing the host and ATV of making false claims under Németh’s direction, stating he had proof of not being invited for a month.
Now people are talking. Some think it was a huge mistake from Péter Magyar as he lost his credibility while others think it was the right decision that he left.
I believe MP wanted his campaign to be too perfect and didn’t want anyone to mess it up. When he was invited to ATV, he knew he should go because accepting the interview would have been the cherry on top. Nothing proves this more than the fact that he yells during the campaign if someone messes something up. He’s a perfectionist. But because he was afraid of making a mistake during the interview, he lied to himself, saying he wasn’t even invited, so his conscience remained calm. Cognitive dissonance?
Now he can’t face himself, so he ran away from his own reflection. I’m not a psychologist, but I think there’s some sort of self-struggle going on here. Perhaps he needs to conquer his own demons now?
On the other hand, the reporter seems to be provocative and disrespectful too. It was below the belt and it is clear whose side he was on.
Now enough of politics. Another thing happened to me yesterday. The weather was rainy, and while standing under a tree, I broke off a branch, causing a raindrop to fall into my eyes from the branches. This occurred 4 hours ago. I have since removed my contact lens and thoroughly washed it with solution and put it back. i am wondering if there could be a risk of infection, including amoeba, entering my eye?
Water, especially rainwater that has run down tree branches, can harbor various bacteria, fungi, and amoebae. These organisms, if introduced to the eye, can cause serious infections. Acanthamoeba, a type of amoeba, is particularly notorious for causing severe eye infections in contact lens wearers. I hope the chance is small, if there is any.
