Homecomings and New Beginnings

It was our last day in my hometown—for now. After breakfast, we packed and loaded the car, then headed to my parents’ place, where my cousin and her family were chatting with them. We joined in and ended up talking a lot more about pregnancy and parenting. Eventually, we all said our goodbyes and left.

On the way home, we ran into my half-sister’s son and his wife. We shared our big news with them too. Funny enough, we actually met at a gas station by the road, since they were on their way to visit her parents, who live in a village called Tolcsva. They were really happy for us as well.

From there, we continued toward Székesfehérvár, making a stop in Szerencs for a snack. We like doing that—it adds a little fun to the journey.

During the drive, we came to a conclusion: we’re not sure we’ll go back to Sátoraljaújhely in July as we had originally planned. The roads are too bumpy, and we’re worried it might not be ideal for the little girl. So, most likely, I’ll invite my parents to visit us in Székesfehérvár instead. I think that’s the best idea—it’ll give them a chance to spend time here with us.

We also stopped by my brother’s place. His son, Marcell, had just woken up and was in a pretty moody state. He didn’t want to do anything at first. Hopefully, our little girl will be a bit less grumpy! Luckily, our car caught his attention, and his mood started to improve. After a while, we said goodbye and headed home.

Unfortunately, I’ve come down with something. My throat’s itchy, and I had already started to feel it the night I was out partying. I really hope it doesn’t get worse.

Even joyful journeys come with the need to adjust plans for what matters most—like protecting new life.
