Rain, Rust, and Reflections

Today I met up with one of my old friends while he was having his tyres changed at a service station. While there, he noticed how rusty the bottom of his car’s underbody had become. We talked about how important it is to have it repainted to prevent further corrosion — one of those small but necessary things we often forget.

He also asked about our little girl on the way. I told him my wife is due at the end of August. He warned me about how difficult the beginning can be — he said a friend of his has a daughter and that it’s been incredibly tough for them. But honestly, I already know it won’t be easy — and I don’t care. What matters is that we’ll have a beautiful daughter. It’s one of life’s biggest milestones — and unlike many others, this one lasts forever. With all the challenges, yes, but with all the joy, too.

After that, I went to visit another old friend, the one who owns a gym. Unfortunately, he wasn’t there. I felt a bit disappointed and went home. It made me wonder — maybe he didn’t feel like meeting up today? I wouldn’t blame him. Sometimes I’m not in the mood for people either. Or maybe he just didn’t have time, or forgot I was coming. It’s okay either way.

It was a rainy, chilly day anyway — perfect for heading home early and just resting.
