Slow, Steady, Step by Step

It feels like this whole weekend has been surprisingly productive. That said, this morning started off with sleepy weather and a cozy mood. My wife had taken over my usual spot in our little girl’s room — and I don’t blame her; it’s incredibly comfortable. I told her to stay there a bit longer, enjoy the cool breeze coming through the window, and watch her shows in peace.

Meanwhile, I made myself a coffee and tidied up the balcony a little. After a while, we both started getting ready to head out — we had errands to run: the pharmacy, Tesco, and Praktiker. We’re slowly preparing everything for our baby’s arrival.

I needed to buy a medical gown for the hospital since I’ll be present during the delivery. My wife needed wipes, nappies, and some bathroom essentials to help with recovery after the birth. We spent quite a bit of time in Rossmann, and we got so distracted that I accidentally left my bank card in the terminal. A security guard actually chased us down in Tesco to return it — I felt both incredibly grateful and slightly embarrassed!

After that, we picked up some soft robes for my wife, and in Praktiker, we found a lovely fan for our little girl’s room. My wife also grabbed some double-sided tape to hang a cute, cloud-shaped nightlight on the wall.

We’re not rushing anything — just taking it step by step. That’s what helps us stay calm and avoid messing up any part of the preparation. Slow and steady really does make all the difference.
