There is a countless number of creations in this world. Think about art. How many paintings and statues are out there? How many ancient building that still stand? In many cases, the identity of the creators is well-known. Think about Leonardo da Vinci, Raffaelo, Donatello or Michelangelo. Think about famous writers like John Steinbeck, William Shakespeare or Byron.
But in many other cases, the identity of the creators are lost in time. We do not know who created some statues, who wrote some books or made a painting. But that is not the point. The point is that things survive much longer than their creators. Their physical existence outlives their creators much longer. Objects do not die, their creators do. When we look at these things, we see their makers as well – they left their imagination in these objects, we can see what there was in their mind before they started working on their creations. So these objects still hold the dignity that their creators put into them.
The dignity of the creators survived within their creations. In certain ways, humans are immortal.
