I read on Greek Reporter about a Greek-style restaurant called Blue Agori in Budapest, with three convenient locations throughout the city, including one near St. Stephen’s Basilica. Their commitment to quality is evident as they source their ingredients from Greece, ensuring an authentic taste experience, as stated on their website.
The owner of Blue Agori, Stavros Koranis, grew up in Budapest but had a deep appreciation for his Greek heritage, thanks to his mother’s influence and love for gastronomy. This cultural connection is reflected in the delectable Greek dishes that Koranis has passionately brought to Budapest.
While Blue Agori stands out, there are other places to enjoy gyros in Budapest. Kyros Gyros in Hegedűs Gyula and Budapest Gyros in Wesselényi are two examples, both receiving excellent reviews with ratings above four out of five stars on Google.
I’ve developed a recent obsession with gyros, and there are a couple of reasons behind it. Firstly, I’ve been following a ketogenic diet for the past two months and have now transitioned to a low-carb Mediterranean diet. It’s important for me to maintain a healthy lifestyle and avoid overly sugary or fatty foods. Gyros, with its combination of meat, bun, and abundant vegetables, seems to be a great choice that aligns with my dietary goals.
Beyond its health benefits, the flavor of gyros is simply irresistible. It satisfies my cravings and has become my go-to guilty pleasure throughout the summer. With its delicious taste and balanced ingredients, gyros have become the perfect treat for me.
Oh and I haven’t tried these places yet but when we go to Budapest, maybe.
