Should we give a tip?

In a wider sense, I do not think we should tip anywhere. I don’t see the reason for it. I believe the prices on the menu should cover all costs. Why should I pay extra? It feels like a waste, and the whole tipping system seems flawed. The person who introduced this practice seemed more interested in their own gains, and businesses gladly adopted it to benefit themselves. It just feels like everyone’s trying to get more money out of us. Besides, no one tips me in my job, so why should I tip others?

Businesses should include the full cost of service in the menu prices, allowing customers to know exactly what they will be paying upfront. This way, there are no surprises, and everyone is on the same page regarding the expenses. The responsibility to pay fair wages should lie with the employers, not the customers. What is more, the amount of the tip is often subjective and can lead to inconsistent rewards for service quality.

I think that employers should compensate their staff adequately, eliminating the need for tipping to supplement income. I just feel compelled to tip, even when I am dissatisfied with the service, due to social norms or expectations.
