We got up in the morning and we started cleaning our flat. It was necessary because we did not want to start the New Year with an untidy home.
In the meantime, I took the car to a filling station where I did some vacuuming. The following day we were travelling to my hometown so we wanted a clean car. After the cleaning, I picked up the food we had previously ordered at Burger King. It was a convenient thing to do as we did not have to cook.
Then I went home and we had lunch. The only problem was that we could not finish all the cleaning because the day was too short, which was a bit frustrating but well, there was nothing we could do. We watched some shows on TV while waiting for the night.
My wife received a call from her family who had already marked the start of the New Year in another part of the world. They were all joyful.
Then we had a light snack because our main meal was taking place at midnight.
It was bittersweet that we couldn’t find memories from the same time twelve months ago, so we made up for it by taking some new photos and videos.
We were too sleepy to stay up until midnight, so we decided to take a short nap before continuing with our plans. I dozed off for some time before we both woke up, and began to prepare dinner. We waited for the clock to chime twelve and then exchanged warm hugs and kisses to mark the start of 2023.
We had the meal then lit some sparklers on the balcony, enjoying the moment. After, we swayed together with a romantic song, which was the perfect way to end the day and embrace the New Year.
