Reflections on Ohio’s Marijuana Legalization: A Personal Journey and Consideration

I read on the Internet that Ohio passed Issue 2, legalizing adult-use marijuana with a 57% vote. Effective from December 7, adults 21 and older can buy, possess, and grow cannabis. The law imposes a 10% tax, funding social equity, municipalities, substance abuse, and administrative costs. It allows medical marijuana businesses to engage in recreational products and emphasizes social equity in licensing. The victory reflects changing public opinion and addresses frustrations with the existing medical marijuana program. Opposition, led by top Republicans, anticipates legislative scrutiny. The campaign for Issue 2 was low-profile but secured victory.

That is a good thing I think but personally, I am not sure I would try it again. I say again because I remember trying it when I was a teenager. My first trying was great, I felt a pleasant buzz starting in my stomach and it slowly went up to my head but my second and third experiences were not too good: my heart rate was extremely rapid and I started panicking. I told myself never again. It seems marijuana has a bad effect on my and I would rather stay away from it.

I think it is important to listen to your own experiences and make decisions that are best for you. If you are in the same situation and you feel that marijuana has negative effects on you, it’s completely valid to choose not to use it. Everyone’s reactions to substances can be different, so it’s essential to prioritize your own well-being and do what feels right for you.
