We’ve started upgrading our balcony, and the first step is already in progress! Our goal is to install a professional aluminum sliding window, which can be opened or closed whenever we like. We chose the sliding style because it won’t get in the way like a regular frame would when opened—space-saving and convenient.
But before any window work could begin, we had to deal with a quirky little detail: a hole at the bottom of the balcony. Originally, it was there to let rainwater drain outside during heavy downpours. But since we won’t be needing it anymore, it had to go.
Two workers came and filled the hole with expanding foam. Right now, it looks a bit funny—like a thick, puffy blob growing out of the floor—but tomorrow they’ll return to smooth it down and clean it up properly. Once that’s done, the first step of our balcony transformation will officially be complete!
