Last night, something amusing happened. We were watching the Germany–Hungary football match, and everyone around us was German. It was quite the scene—100% of the crowd was cheering for Germany, while we were the only ones supporting Hungary. We had to keep quiet with our cheers—I really didn’t want to get beaten up! 😄
Today, on our way home, we made a quick stop in Zagreb, the capital of Croatia. To be honest, the city didn’t leave a strong impression. The suburbs still have a bit of a communist feel, and while the city center is nicer—with a huge cathedral as its centerpiece—the church was unfortunately under renovation. We had hoped to go inside and admire it, so that was a bit disappointing.
Still, we found a great little restaurant nearby and had a delicious lunch. We also visited the local market close to the cathedral and took some nice photos. In the end, Zagreb was worth the visit—if for nothing else, just to be able to say we’ve been there too.
