Nowadays we have a few things to sort out with a hospital because my wife is going to have a minor surgery next week. Fortunately, nothing serious but I will be guiding her the whole week. Yesterday, we had to have some preliminary tests done for this surgery. After the initial struggles, they took blood from her. I am writing about struggles because according to the administrator, we were not supposed to use the services of that hospital as we do not live in that area. Well, our doctor works there and she was the one recommended us to go there. It seems that there is no clear communication between the units of the hospital. I agree that hospitals are extremely busy and are under a lot of pressure nowadays but the lack of communication makes it more chaotic. Anyway, the nurses were nice and helpful. After that, we went to our GP for an EKG test and he did it immediately. I always admire the patience of our GP – he is a really good and nice person. However, he was complaining about the system a bit expressing how disorganised everything is, probably because of the greediness of our government.
What I realized is that how someone manages difficult times mostly depends on the personality. Whether you can fight stress efficiently or you are struggling is dependent on what kind of person you are. Are you easy going? Are you generally a calm person? Are you generally anxious? If you have a cold-headed mindset, you probably manage chaotic situations more easily.
I think those people who are more chilled and relaxed can be more successful in all walks of life. They can see problems with a clear had and sharper eyes as stress do not distort their sense of reality. Unfortunately, I am not kind of person.
