A few days ago, I mentioned that our neighbors were moving out, and I also shared how we sadly missed the chance to buy their flat.
Now I’ve been thinking: an elderly lady is moving in, and while I wish her all the best, part of me wonders how she’ll manage. The flat is quite large, and the garden can be a lot of work to maintain. Of course, it’s not my place to decide what suits someone else — I’m just thinking out loud, based on common sense.
So, I’ve decided to be friendly and introduce myself once she settles in. At some point, I’ll gently mention that we were very interested in the flat, and that we live just one floor above. Who knows? She might eventually find the space too much and consider downsizing. And if that ever happens, we’d definitely be willing to pay extra to make it work.
Nothing is certain, of course. But sometimes, life gives you a second chance — we’ll just have to wait and see.
