A Wholesome Start to the Spring Holiday

It was the last day of school before the spring holiday, and many of my students were eager to head out to the schoolyard. They saw the approaching break as a perfect excuse to escape lessons. But the truth is, we still had material to cover, and school rules didn’t allow them to go outside just yet. A coming holiday doesn’t automatically mean free time. I gently reminded them that they would have plenty of time to rest soon. Thankfully, they understood.

After class, I went home—but had to return to school shortly after because I’d forgotten a few containers of school milk. I really don’t like wasting things, and since no one else needed them, I brought them home. I try to value even the simplest, cheapest things. Otherwise, the doorman would have just thrown them away. I ended up saying goodbye to my students for the second time that day.

The afternoon brought something even more exciting. We went to the gynecologist for an ultrasound check-up. Our baby was doing great—sucking her thumb and likely fast asleep. It was the sweetest sight. What a relief and what a joy to see her safe and sound.

The holiday couldn’t have started on a more heartwarming note.
