Are hallucinogenic drugs gateways to other dimensions?

Is it possible that the personal, spiritual, and “tripping” hallucinations induced by MDMA, ayahuasca, and LSD are not actually hallucinations, but rather extrasensory experiences and glimpses into other dimensions facilitated by the activation of dormant parts of the brain?

I would definitely like to inquire about this if I could talk to a scientist. Many consumers of ayahuasca or LSD report gaining insights into the deeper interconnectedness of the universe, concepts of life and death, communication with superintelligent beings, discovering the roots of their own hidden issues, and returning with altered perceptions, among other things.

Could there be potential for these experiences to ever be used therapeutically if the scientific community were to delve deeper into the subject?
