Do multipurpose contact lens solutions also disinfect the eyes when I use a few drops?

I am just busting my brain over a train of thougts concerning contact lenses. I usually put some drops of the multi-purpose solution into my contacts when I am placing them into my eyes to make them moist. This solution that I use has disinfectant characteristics, as most of them do. Now, when this is happening, the solution spreads in my eyes to some extent and a small amount of the solution comes into contact with my eyes.

So does it mean that the disinfectant properties of the solution could have some effect on reducing the microbial load on the surface of my eyes?

Is far as I know, multi-purpose contact lens solutions are primarily designed to clean, rinse, and disinfect contact lenses. While a small amount of the solution may get onto the surface of your eyes, I am not sure it is intended or optimized to disinfect the eyes directly. I know how important it is to follow proper eye hygiene practices and consult with an eye care professional for any specific concerns regarding your contact lens routine but I still find the question interesting because if that is true, our eyes can benefit from these solutions in a different way. Have you ever considered trying daily disposable contact lenses?
