This morning started with a pleasant walk on the beach. This is our last day in Boracay, so we have to do as much as we can. During our walk, we discovered a nice Virgin Mary statue on some elevated rocks.
Out of some religious and spiritual intentions, I approached the statue, while my wife was taking photos but a few minutes later we both touched it and had a short prayer.
I did some research and found out that the statue is open 24 hours for visitors to see and it is a popular spot for photo opportunities. The Virgin Mary Statue in Boracay is a popular landmark on the island. It is situated on a rocky outcrop known as Willy’s Rock, which forms a tidal island. The statue is considered a Marian pilgrimage site, attracting visitors who seek spiritual connection and blessings.
Later, we had lunch at a local bar, then we went back to the port where we were waiting for a speedboat to take us back to the main island. Here at the port, a little accident happened: as my wife was walking down the steep stairs leading to the boat, she fell. When I saw her crouching on the stairs, I immediately thought of calling the ambulance, hospitalization, serious medical invention but fortunately she “just” bruised her legs. Well, this accident could have been worse but fortunately was not. Her legs became very sensitive and I had to be careful not to touch them while moving around her, which I sometimes failed at, apologizing.
