Finding Joy in Small Adjustments

The weather wasn’t that great today, so we decided not to go to Pácin — and honestly, I think that was a wise decision. Sure, it was warm, but not warm enough for a comfortable outdoor activity. When planning anything outside, it’s important to make sure it’s properly warm. In my opinion, chilly weather is worse than hot weather — it’s just more uncomfortable to sit around when it’s cold. Weather can be a deal-breaker, so always check it before planning anything outdoors.

Instead, we went to a restaurant in Sárospatak. It was our second time there with my parents. The restaurant is in a cellar, so we had to be careful going down the stairs, especially since my dad walks more slowly these days. I’m starting to realize I need to be more patient — they’re getting older, and I need to adjust to that.

They also couldn’t tolerate the fan blowing too close to them in the cellar, so we moved to a spot farther away. It wasn’t a big deal — everything turned out fine.

After lunch, we treated ourselves to some ice cream at the shop across the street. We sat there and enjoyed it in peace. Then we headed back to Újhely, and did some shopping at Tesco.

Whenever we visit Újhely, we always do our shopping at the local Tesco instead of ordering online — mostly because there’s no home delivery available there. But honestly, it can be fun. Even errands can feel enjoyable when you approach them with the right mindset.
