Today is a lazy day. We are doing nothing, just having a rest. Later we will start preparing for our short trip to Davao City. The only thing I am worrying about is crime, especially kidnapping. However, according to Google research, Davao City in the Philippines has made efforts to improve its safety and security situation. It was known for having strict security measures and an active anti-crime campaign. Of course, safety can vary depending on various factors and can change over time.
So as much as we can, we will not go to the slums; even if we have to cross it, we will not leave the car. Instead, we will just go to popular tourist destinations.
My other concern is the mosquitoes, as they can spread Dengue fever and malaria. We have bought some mosquito repellents with us from Hungary and we hope they will work. I know that mosquitoes in the moderate climate zone and mosquitoes in the tropical climate zone are different but we will give it a try. If they will not work, then we will probably just buy something at a local pharmacy.
My wife’s sister’s husband also warned me to take sunscreen, which is important, indeed. Other than these, we will see what experience we will have when we get there.
Visiting Samal Island is the main attraction of our trip, so we are very excited.
Lazy days can be the perfect prelude to an exciting trip! 🌴 It’s great that you’re prioritizing safety and doing your research. Sticking to popular tourist spots is a wise choice, and your precautions against mosquitoes are on point. Samal Island sounds like an amazing destination; the anticipation must be building up! Have a fantastic and worry-free trip to Davao City. Enjoy every moment and the beautiful experiences that await you! 🌟🏝️👋
