Is Budapest a cold, unfriendly city?

I just read a post on Reddit, which made me think. The poster loves Budapest, wants to live there, but every time he visits, the locals seem cold and unfriendly. Wondering if it is because they are not into tourists or if that is just how they roll.

But no, the people in Hungary do not hate tourists. Especially in Budapest, where tourists are rolling through every single day. The locals there, they are used to that. But let me tell you, it’s more about the government being straight up trash. They are messing with teachers, slapping high-ass taxes on regular folks, building all these dumbass battery factories for no reason. And don’t even get me started on the corruption. Shit’s off the charts! Plus, the prices in the stores are sky-freakin’-high, driving everyone crazy.

It’s like, why is everything so damn expensive, man? Other countries around here got cheaper stuff, and that’s just depressing as hell. And on top of all that, the government keeps spewing negative propaganda, messing with people’s heads, you know? Oh, and don’t forget about inflation, man. That just adds to the general sadness going round. Oh and of course, our f…ed-up history, like a goddamn rollercoaster ride, always on the losers’ side. So, it is not surprise that people feel down these days, but it has nothing to do with tourists, bro. Don’t even trip.
