My concerns about religions are quite global in nature. Looking back at history, it’s evident that people have often exploited their religions for personal gain. They’ve justified wars in the name of God, leaving us to question whether these conflicts were truly a divine wish or merely a manifestation of human desires for destruction and chaos. What kind of deity would condone the suffering and loss of innocent lives? I find it hard to believe that humanity has fully grasped the spiritual essence of God. Instead, many have twisted it to suit their own interests and interpretations, often using religion as a pretext to dominate other cultures and nations.
My faith lies in a God brimming with boundless love and the drive to create. A deity who endorses war, devastation, and bloodshed seems far from authentic, appearing more like a human invention to rationalize nefarious intentions. It’s disheartening to witness how humans can warp positive spiritual concepts to serve their personal agendas, even going so far as to cast themselves as divine messengers. In my view, true biblical-historical messengers were those who never condoned violence.
Lastly, religions appear to stifle our spiritual exploration of the universe. They tend to discourage notions of reincarnation, the afterlife, or individual creative potential. While I acknowledge Buddhism’s alignment with reincarnation, I still perceive certain limitations within it.
