Our Birth Plan Amid Uncertainty

According to the news, tap water at the hospital of the maternity ward in my city is unsafe for drinking or bathing newborns, forcing mothers to use bottled water for flushing toilets. The hospital says patient care isn’t affected and bottled water is provided. The issue stems from ongoing plumbing disinfection, with the water safe only for adult washing until tests clear it.

Since we are worried about this issue, we were thinking about going somewhere else to give birth to our child. After all, it would be difficult to give birth without water, would it not? I called another hospital in another city and they told me it was possible to go there but in order to do that, we need to fill out a request form that they will evaluate and decide.

Considering the fact that this is a complicated process, I realized that the I would just ask about the rumours straight up from the hospital itself. So I called them. The nurse who informed me about the current situation gave me a reassurance that there was nothing to worry about because they are disinfecting the water indeed but only at night only until the end of this week. So unless our little girl is not in a hurry, we will be fine next week by going to this hospital.

But even now, we could manage this situation. We wait and see.
