Today I said goodbye to my colleagues and my students. You know, I am going on paternity leave for a long time. The reaction of my leaving was mixed. All of my colleagues are not happy but I know why. They will not miss me. What they will miss is my job – they will have to substitute for me – which is understandable. If I had to cover a lot of classes as a substitute, I would also be a little upset.
Anyway, they only have to last for a week because another teacher is coming to take my place. She is a young person, a newcomer in education.
It will be strange to stay at home in the beginning, but it will definitely be more rewarding to deal with my own child.
