Shy Little Thumb-Sucker

Today, we had our second 3D ultrasound of our little girl. This time, we were a bit less nervous — after all, everything had been fine during the first screening. Still, there was a little anxiety in the air.

But this second scan turned out to be more amusing than stressful. It was funny because our baby showed us everything… except her face. She kept covering it with her hands, as if playing peekaboo. The assistant smiled and suggested we take a short walk — sometimes that encourages babies to move into a better position.

So we stepped outside and walked around a bit. When that didn’t help, the assistant suggested trying something sweet. We bought a slice of cake — my wife’s favorite — and she ate it while walking, hoping the sugar would prompt the baby to show herself.

It worked… sort of. When we returned, our baby revealed half of her face — just enough for the assistant to complete the necessary measurements. And then we saw something absolutely adorable: she was sipping the amniotic fluid as if it were a sweet drink! She looked so cute.

We left the clinic smiling, happy that everything was fine again — and laughing a little at our stubborn, camera-shy little girl.
